"The details are not the details.
They make the design"
-Miguel de German Ribon
Flores la Conchita is a family owned company with more than 50 years of experience producing and exporting fresh cut flowers grown under 100 acres of greenhouses in the Savanna of Bogotá, Colombia.
Miguel de German-Ribon, its founder, had been growing roses to sell at the local market when he heard of David Cheever, a graduate student in horticulture at Colorado State University, who wrote his thesis on “Bogotá, Colombia as a Cut-Flower Exporter for World Markets.” Inspired by his study, Miguel de German Ribon started growing carnations for export.
His first shipment in 1967 was Colombia’s first cut flower export of carnations.
Today, Flores la Conchita has a broad portfolio of products including: Alstroemerias, White Callas, Hydrangeas and Ranunculus. In Alstroemeria we are the largest producers of Perfection, a patented production, grading and presentation system, that guarantees the highest flower quality and market recognition. Our product diversity and management expertise allows us to adapt our products and shipments to the ever-changing specifications of importers and wholesalers worldwide.

Since 1959, Flores la Conchita has continued developing the local market and proudly supplies beautiful roses for Rosas Don Eloy, our sister company, that has 12 points of sales in Bogotá, Medellin, Cali and Bucaramanga.
In 1998, the family decided to open a farm near Quito, Ecuador at the foot of the Cayambe snow-peaked extinct volcano. Flor Eloy’s 40-acre farm in Ecuador is entirely dedicated to growing first class roses for export to international markets across the world.
Since the beginning, our philosophy and principles have been centered on social and ecological responsibility,
so we proudly follow the requirements of Forverde and Flor del Ecuador for social, labor and ecological standards. We have also been a member of The Colombian Association of Flower Exporters (ASOCOLFLORES) since its creation in 1973. Luis Martin de German Ribon, Flores la Conchita’s president since 1981, has served on the Association’s board for many years.
The knowledge we have acquired over the past 50 years has helped us meet the challenges of today’s business: quality, innovation, and efficiency alongside respect for nature and mankind.
